Tip#1: Always start with moisturized skin.

“First of all, just put moisturizer on...not just on your face, put it on your neck, put it on your hands, it feels better, it looks better,” said Brown in the video. She doesn’t show the specific moisturizer she’s used, but we’ve got you covered. When it comes to choosing the best anti-aging creams and moisturizers for mature skin types, experts recommend looking for products that contain ingredients like peptides, which help repair skin damage, and hyaluronic acid, which locks in moisture, helping to prevent dryness.

Hyaluronic acid is commonly used as an ingredient in moisturizers because of its hydration benefits, and can even help plump the skin to improve the appearance of fine lines,” said Joshua Zeichner, M.D., director of cosmetic and clinical research in dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, in a previous interview for Prevention.

Tip#2: Conceal any redness.

Next, Brown grabs the Joan Road The Face Pencil Everything Stick to conceal redness. “Get rid of redness...get rid of any redness around your nose, around your mouth, and under your eye...a little bit of darkness,” Brown advises.

Tip#3: Create a subtle glow.

“I love a little bit of luminosity on my face,” says Brown as she dips her fingers into the Jones Road Miracle Balm All-Over Glow, and smoothes it all over her cheeks. The miracle balm is designed to provide a wash of soft-focus moisture to enhance and perfect the skin. Its formula includes nourishing ingredients like jojoba oil, argan oil, and vitamin E, which all work together to hydrate and moisturize the skin. You can also wear the balm alone, use it to bronze or highlight, or layer it on top of foundation.

“This is miracle balm...if you haven’t heard of it...it’s a miracle that comes in six, seven colors...really good,” said Brown.

And that’s it! Three simple makeup tips you can follow to create a better-looking complexion on mature skin.
